Coach Karate is a martial arts school that focuses on the use of hands and legs for fighting. This includes karate, taekwondo, kickboxing, and jiu-jitsu.
- Why do I need to be at least 18 years old to sign up for Coach Karate?
As we believe that being a martial artist should not be taken lightly, we require everyone who signs up for our classes to be at least 18 years old. We also do not allow anyone below the said age to sign up for their parents or guardians as we believe that they should make the decision themselves.
- Do you have any branches in other states?
We currently have only one branch in New York City. However, if you are interested in establishing a branch in your area, don’t hesitate to send us an email!
- Is it necessary for me or my child to pay right away?
No. The first class is free for all students.
- Can I enroll at the same grade if I have previous Shotokan Karate experience?
Any student from Coach Karate who is currently in grade can continue their training with the TKF. We would need verification of that grade, such as a license book or a certificate.
- Can I retain my current grade if I have previous martial arts experience?
We at Coach Karate understand that each training method is unique while still being similar to the next. When learning a new discipline, however, a pupil must start as a white belt, regardless of their past experience.

Gradings are held every four months but are optional, allowing students to develop at their own speed.
